10 Best Dressed Celebrities At 2019 Met Gala

Published

on

This year, Met Gala hosts decided to have a rather bizarre theme. The theme, “Camp: A Note In Fashion” was greeted by the fashion industry with a slight head shake. Many believe attendees would either miss the theme entirely or couldn’t live up to it. Fortunately, there is nothing to worry about. Celebrities, with the help of their stylists, proven to be worth or this year’s theme. Sure the interpretation varies greatly. But, this year’s pink carpet yielded even something better than just accuracy. Attendees decided to come up with a fashion that has a sense of mischief, experimentation, and ultimately, pure joy. Some celebrities below even took the theme to the next level.

Janelle Monae

Wearing a collection from Christian Siriano, the actress’ dress is an absolute visual feast. From head to toe, Moane’s dress is very eye pleasant to watch. His hat resembles the Mad Hatter’s one, while her dress is very Picasso-esque one. Not to mention peepers on the boob.

Kacey Musgraves

Wearing pink, floor-length dress by Moschino, the singer is definitely looked like a barbie on Met Gala night. Despite being not the only who is wearing a pink princess outfit, Musgraves definitely is the one nailed the look. From the expression on her face, to the hair and makeup, to the tiny sunglasses, and to the hair dryer purse.

Lady Gaga

Leave it to the eccentric singer to dress like a Russian nesting doll of a dress. With the help of the entire village, Lady Gaga peeled her dress one by one, revealing four layers of dresses.

Billy Porter

Apparently, inspired by Elizabeth Taylor in Cleopatra, the Egyptian Sun of God and Cher, the actor dressed up in all gold. But, it is not his dress that is most looked for. It was his entrance. Carried by six shirtless men on a gold litter.

Kim Kardashian

Apparently, Mugler himself came out of retirement to design this “wet” look for Kim K. I must say the designer nailed it. As intended, she was photographed looking soaking wet. With such a binding corset below her dress, we must say her look is impressive.

Gigi Hadid

Not sure whether it was the intention or not, but Hadid’s choice of outfit resembles Elton John’s preferences so much. Dress in a skin-clad unitard by Michael Kors, the supermodel looked perfect. Just lend her a pair of tiny sunglasses and no one can tell that’s Hadid instead of Sir Elton John.

Cardi B

The rapper’s dress looked like she was wrapped in a weighted blanket as she struggled to make her way up the stairs. But what is slight immobility if you can look like a glamorous cartoon villain.

Cara Delevigne

We are not sure what kind of outfit is this. Whether it’s a dress, a unitard, or something else. But whatever that was, Delevigne looked stunning in the collection of Dior. Her look, somehow, reminded us of hard candy with all the rainbow colors.

Elle Fanning

Dressed in wide flair pantsuits and a cropped top by Miu-Miu, the actress looked freakishly joyful on the pink carpet. The most impressive part of her outfit, however, is her nails. Each of her fingernails had a dangly charm attached to them.

Lupita Nyong’o

Sometimes, we forget how brilliant the actress is on a red carpet. Nyong’o also nailed the 2019 Met Gala pink carpet with her dress, a collection by Versace.

The Top 10 Most Naked Look From 2019 Billboard Music Award

Published

on

A few days ago, the music industry was once more awarded their most talented figures in the Billboard Music Award. Just as any other award show, the red carpet has been one of the most anticipated section of all. All celebrities are trying their best to look good in front of the camera. For some, looking good is simply wearing the perfect dress. Others, however, dare to challenge the norm and dress with more skin to bare than necessary. From Cardi B to Taylor Swift, these celebrities are not afraid to show what they got underneath those layers.

Taylor Swift

Tay-Tay is not usually one of those celebrities who loves to bare her naked skin on an award ceremony. But for the 2019 BMA, the celebrity chose to wear ruffled purple mini with sheer paneling throughout. Not only the length of the dress is high enough, but the sheer paneling also shows the world the perfection of her body.

Cardi B

If it’s not unusual, then it’s not Cardi B. For the 2019 Billboard Music Award, the rapper opted for a two-pieces outfit consist of a bralette and maxi dress with a thigh-high slit. The egg-yellow colored outfit was so barely-there that some people claimed the rapper was having a wardrobe malfunction at some point during the night.

Julianne Hough

Similar to Cardi B, Hough opted for two-pieces clothing. The celebrity showed off her toned legs with hot shorts while showing off her abs with a bralette. To complete the look, Hough wore a coordinating jacket as an outer. Though we must be honest that the jacket doesn’t cover much.

Saweeti

As long as she doesn’t walk and stand properly with two legs straight, people would not notice anything improper about Saweeti’s dress. But, once she let one of her legs out, people started to notice the two very high slits in the full-length gown.

Kiernan Shipka

At first glance, there is nothing unusual about Shipka’s mini dress. It was a beautiful black and red striped dress with a chevron skirt. But, once we look at the details of the dress, we will realize that the whole dress is in a sheer-bodiced.

Ciara

Holding her son as her date, Ciara looked fantastic in her full-length gown black dress. People, however, can’t help but notice that the dress has a very plunging neckline and thigh-high middle slit on the skirt. Yup, it’s open on top and the bottom.

Halsey

Just like Ciara, the singer combines two of the sexiest looks into one dress. A plunging neckline and sheer dress. Despite the full-length gown, the upper part of the dress can barely cover her chest while the bottom part of her dress is slit thigh-high with some parts are in the sheer bodice.

Becky G

The first notice from the singer’s dress wouldn’t be how open it is, but rather the crystal on the entire gown. Afterward, then we notice the asymmetry cut on the bottom half of the dress. The left part of the dress was cut so high, almost up to the hip line. The crystal dress itself is also rather semi see-through.

Chantal Jeffries

Unlike other guests, Jeffries opted out for a catsuit instead of a dress. The choice might seem safer and unattractive if it’s not for the sheer part of the suit. Instead of placing strategically in certain places, the sheer part is the entire catsuit with some bold parts are placed strategically in some intimate places.

Cindy Kimberly

The top part of the dress is sexy enough with a bustier bodice. Added the sheer materials, the dress is double in sexiness. Now, for the closing, add asymmetry cut for the bottom half with the short part cut exactly above the leg.

2019 Met Gala Theme Translated To Street Style

Published

on

The fashion world’s most anticipated event, the Met Gala has finally arrived again. This year theme for the event is Camp Notes On Fashion. The theme was derived from Susan Sontag’s Notes On “Camp” essay. In the essay, Sontag explained the meaning of the word in 58 different detailed definitions. One of them was the love of the unnatural: of artifice and exaggeration. Some people in the fashion world imagining the theme as something so extravagant, it walks the line of being tacky but doesn’t cross it. All the styles are then exaggerated in every sense possible. Since the word “camp” in the fashion industry can be rather elusive, we tapped into a mind of a celebrity stylist to break down further the theme into 5 street styles.

Sequin Dress

This year’s Met Gala theme invites a particularly creative aesthetic. It will also honor important progressive cultures that challenge convention. This can be translated to sequin dresses as the outfit to defy an acceptable trend for the street style. Whether the sequin dress just stood there by itself or accompanied by fake feathers, the trend is so extravagant, it definitely walks the tacky line.

Over-The-Top Footwear

The over-the-top footwear can be described as footwear with towering heights and extravagant colors and designs. The heights of the heels will terrify podiatrists and thrill spectators. Think of the past Lady Gaga when imagining the over-the-top designs footwear.

Big Dress Energy

The Big Dress Energy movement has already swept this year’s fashion trend. The Met Gala is just the perfect event to scale up the trend. Every invitee will try to use the red carpet moment to seize up any second and sought to compete in every inch of the red carpet. If you remember the past Met Gala where the invitees were wearing massive dresses, try to picture this year’s event with ore massive dresses.

Statement Earrings

As extravagant is the underlined word in this year’s theme, you can expect all the accessories, including the earrings to be full of a statement. The lobe drama, as we call it, will bound to be a trend in the red carpet. The bigger and more extreme the earrings are, the better it will be.

80s Glamour

If there is one thing you can count from this year’s gala is there will be no shortage of glamour. Many celebrities will be in competition to wear impressive outwear. With the fashion industry is currently reliving the 80s movement, you can dare that many will bring back the 80s glamour. Including the tiger-print and big-bow dresses.
