Published

on

Welcome to the dreamy world of bridal fashion! We would imagine, since being engaged, you’ve been asked a dizzying array of wedding dress questions – what you like, when you’re shopping, who’s going, are you wearing sleeves, can they come, who’s your favorite designer, who’s buying? Who knew shopping could seem stressful?!

Before you head out with all your saved photos and the will to power through countless wedding gowns, we’ve got a few pointers for you. Like, should you bring a bra to your appointment? Or are there any secret costs to know about up front? Brush up on these tips before slipping into your first dress.

Undergarments Are Optional

Most bridal shops have a few different types of bras in the fitting room. If you have a favorite strapless style or plan on wearing a particular body shaper, go ahead and bring it. You’ll ultimately need your gown-specific undergarments for your first fitting but not your initial appointment.

Set A Budget

Before you get carried away Pinning all those diamond encrusted wedding dresses, take a look at your wedding budget and set a number you’re willing to spend on your gown. This will not only narrow your choices (such an endless amount of beautiful gowns out there!) but also help you hone your expectations in the dress shopping process.

Don’t Bring Too Many People

Bringing a big group to the salon is a gown shopping don’t. Enlist one or two of your closest friends or family members to help you start your search. You can find the gown that best suits you and your style and not feels pressured by too many opinions.

Don’t Forget The Little Things

Your wedding gown budget doesn’t just include the dress. Your veil or headpiece, accessories (think jewelry and shoes), undergarments and alterations will also add to your bottom line. Factor in these costs before you give the salesperson your final shopping budget.

Plan (For The Shopping) Ahead

Believe it or not, gowns typically take anywhere from 4-10 month to be made. Factor in shipping times (is your dress coming from Paris?) alterations and multiple fittings – in the end, your gown could take up to 12 months to be ready.

Don’t have that kind of time? Some designers offer rush services, but be prepared to pay an extra fee. Out of timely options? If you’re happy to get a professional cleaning and are lucky enough to fit in sample sizes, salons often allow brides to buy samples off the rack for a lower price.

5 Ways To Get Dewy Spring Skin ASAP!

Published

on

While it’s tempting to scrub meticulously, you can easily make your skin look worse. Instead of going super hard on your face skin, reassess the products you used and put in some self-care practices into play. The list below will boost your moisture level, overall dewiness, and boost your mood as well.

Add Water

The main ingredient for the recipe of dewy skin is simple. It’s water. One of the easiest ways to get that is by adding a hyaluronic acid moisturizer to your mix. It pretty much turns your face into a sponge. Making it capable of soaking up and locking in hydration. Scared of acne? Choose a moisturizer that’s oil-free and non-comedogenic.

Try Microneedling

If you’re a fan of facial rolling, consider going a little deeper with at-home microneedling. Tiny titanium needles poke the surface of your face to help with its natural exfoliation process. The results are increased circulation and collagen production. Which after a few weeks means brighter, plumper skin.

Add Moisture Into The Air

The air from the central air can actually dried your skin after months of using it. Instead of getting rid of the central air, go get yourself a humidifier. The humidifier will help keep your skin moist, especially for the bedtime. Since it is the time when your skin recharge and rehydrate.

Cleanse, Exfoliate, And Hydrate

Although exfoliation is a necessary step toward brightening, it is equally important to replenish any lost moisture in the process. An easy fix way is to switch to a cleanser that does both. Scrub away dry surface skin and simultaneously add hydrating hyaluronic acid back in.
