Don’t Ever Wear These 5 Things To A Wedding

Published

on

Modern weddings these days are becoming more and more casual as couples are getting more and more progressive. Yet, despite there are fewer rules to be followed nowadays, doesn’t mean that there are no rules at all when it comes to dressing to a wedding. However, wedding is still a sacred ritual. There is a certain level of respect we must shown when it comes to a wedding. People getting married is still a huge and formal event. Our attire will reflect on the level of respect we show to the bride and groom. If you are being invited to a casual wedding yet you are unsure about the level of casualness and what to wear, then the list below is perfect to guide you.

No White, Please

Despite more and more brides opt out not to wear white to her wedding day, the color is still sacred. Most still prefer to wear the traditional white of any shade. Keep in mind that the bride is the most important person in a wedding and your outfit, doesn’t matter how cute, should not over shine theirs. If you find yourself still want to wear something close to white, try neutral colors like pale pink or tan.

Leave Your Sweats At Home

I don’t care how casual a wedding is, sweatpants are never an option. A wedding is a formal event that needs your respect. It is better to overdress than to underdress. If you find yourself in a dilemma over a casual wedding, try to wear a cotton-based outfit. A cotton dress will show that you are still casual yet dressy enough for the event. It is a safer choice than the very casual sweatpants you are wearing to bed.

No Denim

The rule for denim or jeans is most of the time the same as sweatpants. They might be very comfortable and you can wear them daily. But they are very much inappropriate to be worn to a wedding day. You can wear jeans any other day, so please keep in mind to store any denim you have in your closet to your cousin’s wedding. I’m sure you have other outfits more appropriate to wear that makes you more beautiful.

Say Bye To Shorts

This rule can go both ways for men and women out there. For a wedding in hotter weather, guests might think that shorts would be appropriate considering the temperature. But unfortunately, this is not the case. Despite the weather, most weddings are still a formal event and shorts are just not. Rather than shorts, please opt out for lightweight material pants for men or flowy, lightweight dresses for women. Therefore, you can still be comfortable in the hot temperature, yet appropriate for the event.

Cover Your Shoulders When Applicable

Most wedding ceremonies are performed in churches or in an institution with a modest dress code. I’m not saying that off-shoulder or strapless dresses are not permitted. But, if you do wear those types of dresses, try to bring a shawl or sweater to cover yourself. Again, being respectful is still a layer ahead of being cute or sexy.

10 Casual Spring Outfits That Are Easy To Re-Create

Published

on

I love spring. I love the crisp, perfect temperature, the flower, the greenery. But one thing I don’t like is the fluctuating temperature. Dressing up in the morning is always hard. Around this time, however, dressing can be more stressful. The transitional weather means we wear t-shirt and shorts one day, then back to sweater and jeans the next day. This makes me wonder, if only there is a formula easy enough to follow. You know, so I don’t have to think about what to wear in the morning. So, what are the casual spring staples that we should be working into our wardrobe? Well, for one thing, oversize track shorts are apparently not just for gym anymore. Then, slip skirt is back to the radar. While blazer dress is taking the spotlight as it can be a way to look refined with very minimal effort.

Paper Bag Shorts + Button Down Shirt

These two might sound like a weird combination. But trust me when I say that this look does work actually. The button-down shirt is level up the paper bag shorts so they are wearable to wear outside the gym.
