5 Stylish And Safe Shoe Options To Wear To The Airport

Published

on

The number one rule when traveling is, of course, being comfortable. But, when you are traveling by plane, there are other rules you have to consort to as well. For examples, TSA will always ask you to remove your footwear and put them in the x-ray for security reasons. No matter if you wear flip flops that are only an inch thick. And then, there is another health reason. The plane, just like any public transportation, is full of bacteria. So, be careful with any wound you might get during flying as the bacteria can cause irritation. Due to this, we have to measure the safety of our shoe options when traveling by plane. But at the same time, of course, we want to look stylish. So, what do we do? How we combine these two? Scroll on the list below to see how.

Sneakers

You truly can’t go wrong with wearing a pair of sneakers to the airport. First, they are very comfortable. Second, they provide good support for your feet. Third, they can protect your whole feet, which means, bye plane bacteria. You might think that sneakers can complicate the whole take-off-the-footwear. In this case, we recommend slip-on sneakers as the alternative to the one with ties.

Pool Slides

Some people might really really want to wear sandals. In this case, wear pool slides with socks. Some years ago, this might sound yucky. But trust me, lately, celebrities have been caught wearing pool slides with socks to the airports. Even though I still believe that pool slides are not necessarily safe for traveling by plane as they don’t provide good support for your feet, but at least the socks keep you safe from the bacteria.

Low Block Heels

There is no greatest misery than walking around the airport with a pair of high heels while pushing around luggage. But sometimes, the need to look stylish beat our pain. For this, low block heels are a great compromise. For people on the shorter sides, the heels still provide an extra height which makes us look stylish. But at the same time, they are still comfortable for a long walk.

Ankle Boots

Before your flight, you might wake up and think, “hmm, I want to wear something comfortable, sturdy, but rather polished”. Well, welcome ankle boots. They have the sturdiness of sneakers, yet as stylish as heels. If you want some extra heights, opt out for boots with some block heels. Or else, just choose flat ankle boots for extra comfort.

Loafers

From all of this list, loafers are probably the option I love the most. They are stylish, comfortable, and easy to slip on and off. The best thing is, loafers can be worn either with jeans, leggings, even dress.

Let’s take our minds off puffer jackets and snow boots for a second to talk spring. Hence, I know it’s hard to fathom breezy dresses and sandals. Thus, when most of us are still bundled up from head to toe. But, we’re choosing to look on the brighter (warmer?) side.

So fast forward a few months and what do you get? The best spring/summer trends of 2020. It helps to know what will be popular. So, you can prep your shopping list in advance or shop it now. Therefore, we provided “get the look” options too. Hence, before everyone else starts wearing the items.

Knowledge is power and with the trend info ahead, you’ll be the most fashionable, smartest dresser in your friend group. Make yourself a cup of hot chocolate and start reading.

Topless Times

Before you cover your eyes and cringe at the idea of literally wearing a bra as a top, hear us out. While, yes, we saw many designers such as Loewe and Olivier Theyskens display bras that looked more like contents of a negligee drawer and less like tops, we saw the opposite as well thanks to satin bra tops at Givenchy and kitschy co-ord sets at Maryam Nassir Zadeh. Style yours under a blazer or as a top all of its own. Either way, this is one trend we’re daring you to dabble in this season.

Sultry Slips

We know, we know—slip dresses are nothing new, and by now you probably own at least three in various colors, but this spring, we’re seeing a more literal take of the chemise work its way into everyday looks. We’re talking all the lace and colors that read a bit more boudoir (i.e., soft pinks, whites, and nudes) and a lot less street style. But that’s what we love about this fresh take on the familiar dress for spring.

The 3-Piece

The addition of a tailored waistcoat is the spring 2020 update we were looking for amid the recurring suiting trend. We also saw these tailored vests make a strong name for themselves as an individual trend (so be sure to keep an eye out for them), but it was the three-piece suit that stood out the most.

Business Casual

If you’re more of a “limbs out” kind of gal, then this next take on the suit is for you. Remember Bermuda shorts? Well, they are back and were spotted all over the runways showcasing a more casual take on the business-ready trend. Similar to vests, we saw longer shorts of all kinds appear on the runway as a trend on their own, further proving the importance of the shorts movement this spring. From Tibi’s cool-girl take to Givenchy’s office- and night out–ready ensemble, this is one major trend to watch this season.

18+ Fashion Tips For Woman Over 50

Published

on

If there’s one thing that celebrity stylists agree upon it’s that age has nothing to do with style. Great style is possible no matter how old you are—the key is knowing how to flaunt your body and sensibility in a way that works for you.

teenpurple

Here, we’ve rounded up the most helpful tips from top stylists who have worked with chic sophisticates like Maye Musk, Oprah, and Christie Brinkley. Consider this your new guide as you navigate the complex world of fashion.

Don’t Go For Fleeces

pinterest

It all depends on the body type of course, but do certain styles age you before your time?. Now don’t get us wrong – a cosy fleece jacket is great to walk the dogs in, especially come the winter months. It’s when that fleece jacket starts accompanying you on evenings out and lunch with friends that you might want to re-evaluate your wardrobe choices.

Steer Clear Of Old-Fashioned Skirts

Looking for trendy clothes for a 50-year-old woman? Then you probably don’t want to end up looking like Margaret Thatcher. Note that old-fashioned and classic are two completely different kettles of fish – and one of them stinks. Classic white shirt? Excellent choice. Calf-length pleated tartan?

Don’t Get The Wrong Cut Off Denim Skirt

pinterest

They were a favorite in the ’80s, but they aren’t always a flattering choice when it comes to fashion over 50 – unless you get the cut right, that is. Certain denim skirts can be clingy and as uncomfortable as their trouser counterparts, depending on how tight they are. But the denim skirt has been having its moment recently, in various, updated forms. And the results are really rather good. There are plenty of casual-but-cool A-line offerings out there that won’t feel like a denim death grip.

Hide Elasticated Waistbands

2knowandvote

Elasticated waistlines have a bad rep but they’re comfy, so we see no reason to outlaw them. Happily, hiding the waistline of your trousers or skirt is easily done by wearing a longline top or, if you’re after a bit of waist definition, tucking your top in and then pulling out just enough to cover the band (in a cool, slouchy sort of way). Easy as pie. Alternatively, ditch the jogging bottoms and opt for a comfortable pair of loose tie-waist trousers.
