Celebrities With HIV

Published

on

HIV is a virus that weakens a person’s immune system by destroying CD4 cells, a type of white blood cell. While there’s still no cure for HIV, it’s highly manageable with antiretroviral therapy. With regular treatment, a person living with HIV can expect to live as long as a person without HIV. Despite all we know about HIV, there remains a lot of stigma surrounding it. The fact is, anyone can contract HIV — even the richest and famous people in the world.

Magic Johnson

Magic Johnson is a hero on several levels. Not only is he a former basketball star, but he’s also one of the first celebrities to inform the world that he’s HIV-positive. Johnson made his announcement in 1991 — a time when the public believed a great number of misconceptions about HIV. Over 25 years later, Johnson has made good on his plan for living a long time. While still involved in sports as a commentator, he also started the Magic Johnson Foundation, an educational organization whose aim is to prevent the spread of HIV.

Published

There’s just something so interesting about the unattainable realm of fame. That when you hear about two stars throwing shade. it suddenly seems like you’ve got a sneak peek inside their world. In this day and age, social media allows people to post regrettable comments through screen captures and folks with smartphones are able to capture stars when they aren’t necessarily at their best. It’s no surprise that there are celebrities whose hatred for each other spawned from an online spat.

Mariah Carey With Jennifer Lopez, Demi Lovato, and Nicki Minaj

Yup, you read that right, Mariah Carey seems to be at feud with everyone in the music industry. Maybe because she’s a big diva, maybe because she’s, well, Mariah Carey. With Jennifer Lopez, the shade was thrown when Carey claimed that she never heard of J-Lo. With Demi Lovato, apparently, it happened when Lovato was supporting Ariana Grande and Jennifer Lopez from Mariah Carey herself. Lastly, the Carey/Minaj beefed started when both were judges on American Idol. Both parties claimed working with each other has been hellish.

But this list will cover you some of the best songs in the 90s.

Sometimes By Britney Spears (1999)

Britney’s second hit – in other words, her first comeback hit. Nobody really expected the “…Baby, One More Time” girl to last all the way to the spring of 1999, but “Sometimes” was the Total Request Live jam that proved this girl was here to stay and the prototype for a new breed of pop star. Welcome to the next century.

Torn By Natalie Imbruglia (1998)

There is all other karaoke, and then there is “Torn” karaoke. (When it comes to karaoke, 1998 remains the greatest summer of all time.) “Torn” is still an epic tear-jerker – although when you consider Australian singer Natalie Imbruglia’s celebrity beaus, you realize that girlfriend definitely doesn’t need your shoulder to cry on.

Wonderwall By Oasis (1995)
