4 Ideas For “Perfect Date” Outfit

Published

on

No, I’m not talking about a dinner followed by ice cream or cocktail night with a guy you met in the bar last night. I am talking about the perfect date where winter meets with the spring. When the temperature is not too cold but not too hot either. The “perfect date” for inspiring, cool outfits. During this time, coat is optional but sweater is encourage. Just like open toes sandals are an option but boots are totally acceptable choice. Between this time, bare thighs are welcomed, accompanied by high knee socks. Remember all those avant garde outfits on the runway that is too weird to be worn street style? Yup, this is time when any outfit is possible.

For A Weekend Evening Out

For a girls night out or a casual evening date, try this clothing combination. Wear a cotton nightgown underneath a dressy sweater. Paired them with strappy sandals and a clutch. The nightgown is particularly fascinating as by the end of the day all you need to do is take off the sweater and shoes, and you are good to go to bed. Meanwhile, the sweater is to prevent cold weather. But once the temperature is getting warmer, you can take it off and pretend that the nightgown is a cotton dress.

For Work

This idea might be exclusive for those who work in a creative office where the dress code is not too formal. For a business look, a combination of pantsuits and blazer are always welcomed. To balance them out, wear a tie-dye shirt as the inner. Complete the look with a pair of sandals. But if your boss or the temperature doesn’t permit open toe sandals, carry an extra pair of closed toe heels is a good idea also.

For A Slightly Rainy Day

The one thing you have to take note for a rainy day in a transitional season is how volatile the temperature can be. To protect you from the unpredictable temperature, you can wear a sleeveless maxi dress, topped with a sweater or a jacket. With this outfit, you will have the option to dress colder or warmer. Lastly, to protect your feet, opt for a pair of rubber boots which are wet-proof.

For A Day Off

There is only one rule when it comes to a day off. It is there is no rule! You can wear to eat anything you want, whenever you want. The same goes for your outfit. You can pick whatever clothes you are leaning toward. For me, a day off is the perfect time to wear jean shorts, paired with a graphic tee and a jacket. To warm my legs, knee-high socks and a pair of flats are perfect to complete the look.

This office outfit is for all those sexy women who also run the world. But prefer to do it in glam office attire: bright lips, sky-high heels and office outfits that can go from 9 am to late dinner cocktails. Let’s take our minds off puffer jackets and snow boots for a second to talk spring. Hence, I know it’s hard to fathom breezy dresses and sandals. Thus, when most of us are still bundled up from head to toe. But, we’re choosing to look on the brighter (warmer?) side.

So fast forward a few months and what do you get? The best spring/summer trends of 2020. It helps to know what will be popular. So, you can prep your shopping list in advance or shop it now. Therefore, we provided “get the look” options too. Hence, before everyone else starts wearing the items.

Knowledge is power and with the trend info ahead, you’ll be the most fashionable, smartest dresser in your friend group. Make yourself a cup of hot chocolate and start reading.

Topless Times

Before you cover your eyes and cringe at the idea of literally wearing a bra as a top, hear us out. While, yes, we saw many designers such as Loewe and Olivier Theyskens display bras that looked more like contents of a negligee drawer and less like tops, we saw the opposite as well thanks to satin bra tops at Givenchy and kitschy co-ord sets at Maryam Nassir Zadeh. Style yours under a blazer or as a top all of its own. Either way, this is one trend we’re daring you to dabble in this season.

Sultry Slips

We know, we know—slip dresses are nothing new, and by now you probably own at least three in various colors, but this spring, we’re seeing a more literal take of the chemise work its way into everyday looks. We’re talking all the lace and colors that read a bit more boudoir (i.e., soft pinks, whites, and nudes) and a lot less street style. But that’s what we love about this fresh take on the familiar dress for spring.

The 3-Piece

The addition of a tailored waistcoat is the spring 2020 update we were looking for amid the recurring suiting trend. We also saw these tailored vests make a strong name for themselves as an individual trend (so be sure to keep an eye out for them), but it was the three-piece suit that stood out the most.

Business Casual

If you’re more of a “limbs out” kind of gal, then this next take on the suit is for you. Remember Bermuda shorts? Well, they are back and were spotted all over the runways showcasing a more casual take on the business-ready trend. Similar to vests, we saw longer shorts of all kinds appear on the runway as a trend on their own, further proving the importance of the shorts movement this spring. From Tibi’s cool-girl take to Givenchy’s office- and night out–ready ensemble, this is one major trend to watch this season.

18+ Fashion Tips For Woman Over 50

Published

on

If there’s one thing that celebrity stylists agree upon it’s that age has nothing to do with style. Great style is possible no matter how old you are—the key is knowing how to flaunt your body and sensibility in a way that works for you.

teenpurple

Here, we’ve rounded up the most helpful tips from top stylists who have worked with chic sophisticates like Maye Musk, Oprah, and Christie Brinkley. Consider this your new guide as you navigate the complex world of fashion.

Don’t Go For Fleeces

pinterest

It all depends on the body type of course, but do certain styles age you before your time?. Now don’t get us wrong – a cosy fleece jacket is great to walk the dogs in, especially come the winter months. It’s when that fleece jacket starts accompanying you on evenings out and lunch with friends that you might want to re-evaluate your wardrobe choices.

Steer Clear Of Old-Fashioned Skirts

bulletblues

Looking for trendy clothes for a 50-year-old woman? Then you probably don’t want to end up looking like Margaret Thatcher. Note that old-fashioned and classic are two completely different kettles of fish – and one of them stinks. Classic white shirt? Excellent choice. Calf-length pleated tartan?

Don’t Get The Wrong Cut Off Denim Skirt

pinterest

They were a favorite in the ’80s, but they aren’t always a flattering choice when it comes to fashion over 50 – unless you get the cut right, that is. Certain denim skirts can be clingy and as uncomfortable as their trouser counterparts, depending on how tight they are. But the denim skirt has been having its moment recently, in various, updated forms. And the results are really rather good. There are plenty of casual-but-cool A-line offerings out there that won’t feel like a denim death grip.

Hide Elasticated Waistbands

2knowandvote

Elasticated waistlines have a bad rep but they’re comfy, so we see no reason to outlaw them. Happily, hiding the waistline of your trousers or skirt is easily done by wearing a longline top or, if you’re after a bit of waist definition, tucking your top in and then pulling out just enough to cover the band (in a cool, slouchy sort of way). Easy as pie. Alternatively, ditch the jogging bottoms and opt for a comfortable pair of loose tie-waist trousers.
